Western University has launched a new career initiative to support ongoing alumni career success. Western’s Alumni Career Management provides both online and in-person career development events and opportunities.
"Western’s commitment to helping our students achieve success doesn’t end at graduation," says Sarah Dawson, Western’s Alumni Career Coach. "This program is designed to help all of our alumni, whether they are new graduates or experienced professionals."
The initiative is part of a multi-year plan to help Western alumni learn about new opportunities, develop skills, and connect with other alumni – all with the aim of advancing their careers.
"For many, career advancement is a lifelong process and our alumni have expressed an avid interest in being able to access career tools and network with one another as they work to navigate their way through their professional lives," says Trista Walker, Executive Director of Alumni Relations at Western.
Initial features of the program include an online career library housing a curated collection of links to career resources such as LinkedIn tutorials and interview preparation, a Western Alumni Group on LinkedIn where alumni can start conversations with others in their fields, and a job/internship board where alumni can post opportunities within their organizations.
