WestJet Starts Daily Non-Stop Service to Halifax and Vancouver from London

WestJet Airlines “kicked off” its new service to Vancouver and Halifax today with the arrival of the first flight from Halifax. The first flight arrived in style with the aircraft taxiing through the London Airport Fire Services’ “Water Cannon Salute”. The new WestJet service operates through to October and has daily non-stop service to both Halifax and Vancouver from London. All flights will operate with WestJet’s Boeing Next Generation 737 jet aircraft.

“This new service will provide two additional non-stop jet routes from London with connection opportunities in both Halifax and Vancouver” said Steve Baker, President & C.E.O., London International Airport. “WestJet’s growth in London is a direct result of the strong support that our region of southwestern Ontario continues to demonstrate to both WestJet Airlines and London International Airport. From Windsor to Kitchener and from Lake Huron to Lake Erie, we see passengers from our large catchment area using the flights from our airport. Thank you for helping us grow our services and please support the new Halifax and Vancouver service with WestJet” adds Baker.

WestJet’s new non-stop service to Halifax and Vancouver brings the total number of daily WestJet departures to five; two daily flights to Calgary, and one flight daily to Winnipeg, Vancouver and Halifax.
